Quote of the Day

"It just seems like people are panicking.
I don't think it's going to be too bad."

~ James Ivery, an Alexandria, Va., resident, on a massive snowstorm headed to Washington that is expected to dump 30 in. or more; many supermarkets are running out of basic food items.

Huge ice deposits cover south pole of Mars
http://www.cnn.com/2007/TECH/space/03/16/mars.water.reut/index.html

Ummm. known this since the 60s, Mariner 9, even more to be seen near the poles-- unsetting stuff

Once Sagan [RIP] a-gandering at MARINER 9, said it was a hotspot, even mentioned pyramids

So Kent thought, gosh, guess I should look around Elysium on Mars Global Surveyor. Found this:

LAKE STEADMAN

Yep, worst hornet's nest I ever stirred up, searched all around MGS Atlas on a clue from Sagan to look at Elysium.

Found a lake or frozen lake or brine lake and emailed Planetary Society who gave me a song and dance about procedures, then an Ex-NASA guy hand-carried the data into NASA, then NASA started having closed meetings, heh, subject Terraforming Mars. Then I caught a raft of flak from NASA geeks concerning: ARTISTS DON'T DISCOVER STUFF.

So I named it Lake Steadman to piss them off.

FRIEND: what was the correct procedures

BARDSQUILL: never could figure that out

Wanna know what the deal is, eh?

Here's the deal:

When I was a young boy I was taken by the findings of Percival Lowell and the canals on Mars. Lowell thought he witnessed the retreat of a Martian civilization. Interpretations of H.G Wells and Edgar Rice Burroughs captured public vision--scholars and the average man on the streets mused about life on Mars.

But then the stern Medievalists stepped in with their fundamental nix. Dimwitted priests warned to avoid the Mysteries. Blackcoats [dumbass Jesuit astronomers sworn to protect dogma] scrambled for academic letters in astronomy and leapt to regain hold on knowledge and facility. Did they fear that their priestly mojo was slipping the noose?

Kent, they have to say SOMETHING, and you know they're not going to say anything REAL.

I know you had copies of these Mars water photos five years ago. NASA's just BSing because they're not allowed to tell us who's on the Moon today or whom our satellites are shooting at, out there.

What creeps.

I'm going to try something here. Just to see if it'll work. Nope.
Phooey.

I have a Mars Slide Show at the bottom of my page one.

http://www.abidemiracles.com

but I tried to install that here, and it won't work here. : (

Anybody hear from Keith Laney? Last I heard, he was in jail, right?

No word for a while.

life existed on mars oh yes thats almost conclusive now. What if the nephilim were from mars and came to earth. Makes me wonder if Atlantis was indeed MARS

The Nephilim are hybrids off the Annunaki; and the Annunaki are from Orion.

They're also HUGE, whale sized, when they incarnate.

That's where the story of the DRAGONS comes from, of which the Chinese culture has a rich mythology.

In space, they're 2-3 nautical miles in diameter, is the way they travel. They diffuse and spread out so their mass doesn't get in the way of light-speed. They can also unwind (a "serpent-rope" so they can fit through a wormhole.

that is surprising virtually everythign goes in and nothing comes out of JPL, well nothing that might stir the public conscience at least

The upper image of this composite is a ‘radargram’ from the Mars Advanced Radar for Subsurface and Ionospheric Sounding (MARSIS) on board ESA’s Mars Express. It shows data from the subsurface of Mars in the water-ice-rich layered deposits that surround the south pole of the planet.

The lower image shows the position of the ground track of the spacecraft (indicated by a white line) on a topographic map of the area based on data from the MOLA laser altimeter on board NASA's Mars Global Surveyor. The images are 1250 kilometers wide. A non-annotated version of the image can be found here.
http://esamultimedia.esa.int/images/Science/marsis/PIA09222-MARSIS_2682.tif

The MARSIS radar echo trace splits into two traces on the left side of the image, at the point where the ground track crosses from the surrounding plains onto elevated layered deposits.

The upper trace is the echo from the surface of the deposits, while the lower trace is interpreted to be the boundary between the lower surface of the deposits and the underlying material.

The strength of the lower echo suggests that the intervening material is nearly pure water ice. Near the image center, the bright lower echo abruptly disappears for unknown reasons. The time delay between the two echoes reaches a maximum of 42 microseconds left of center, corresponding to a thickness of 3.5 kilometres of ice. The total elevation difference shown in the topographic map is about 4 kilometres between the lowest surface (purple) and the highest (red).

More from the European Space Agency.....

So, if we strapped each and every member of the Bush Administration to a hydrogen bomb and launched them all at the Martian south pole would it melt the ice, and would the water flow to other places?

NASA Mars Rover Churns Up Questions With Sulfur-Rich Soil
http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/news.cfm?release=2007-029

Some bright Martian soil containing lots of sulfur and a trace of water intrigues researchers who are studying information provided by NASA's Spirit rover.

"This material could have been left behind by water that dissolved these minerals underground, then came to the surface and evaporated, or it could be a volcanic deposit formed around ancient gas vents," said Dr. Ray Arvidson of Washington University, St. Louis. He is the deputy principal investigator for NASA's twin Mars rovers, Spirit and Opportunity.

Says here:
http://xenotechresearch.com/mwater.htm
Hard Evidence Of Liquid Water On Mars Today

Contrary to what we have been told, liquid water is present on Mars now

Here is another link showing that liquid water can exist on Mars. This link States: ""According to the model, the highest surface pressure, 12.4 millibars, occurs at the bottom of the Hellas Basin (a low-lying area created by an ancient asteroid strike). The problem is that the boiling temperature there is only +10 °C. It can't get very hot or the water will boil away." Take note that this would be 50° F, so it means that even without salts present, there is a range of 32° to 50° in that area where liquid water can exist. And, as the article points out, large quantities of water ice are suspected all over the planet. Here is the map showing the presence of water on Mars.

I have to admit every picture I see of mars landscape seems damp, as though water
had recently been there. Its as though the tide has gone out

Orginally from Washington Post:
Most Detailed Image of Mars Shows Mysterious Substance "The way the surface has responded is bizarre," said lead rover scientist Steve Squyres of Cornell University, at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), which is managing the mission. "I don't understand it. I don't know anybody on my team who understands it. . . . It looks like mud, but it can't be mud."
