Quote of the Day

"It was so unified. I didn't think the falloff would be so drastic."

~ Marie-Ange Murekatete, an avid Obama supporter during the presidential election season, saying many campaign supporters have lost the hope and energy they proclaimed just over a year ago.

All those pseudonyms for Chinese mysteries in archaeology are based in much fact and some speculation. Chinese archaeologists have a good working platform for the unexplained. In this article I discuss my observations and acquired data on my current life in China and the recent visit to the country’s heartland of tombs and pyramid mounds.

Kent Steadman and I thought it appropriate to factor in current viewpoints also on the Qinghai Lake region, that opens up discussion about the lost edenic region that has noteworthy Neolithic history and presents the concerns on it’s avian wildlife sanctuary.

China has such an extraordinarily large population that I find it hard to grasp how they appear so cohesive. The country's pretty vast too. One thing that pissed me off this week was when I learned that the Amur tiger, the biggest cat on the planet, is threatened with extinction because it's being over-hunted. This, after the Soviets made huge strides in protecting it as long ago as the 50s. I think it was 1969 when the Soviets and China fought a war over the Amur river region.
TCM practitioners still value the tiger as a healing artefact. I think that stinks. I'm on a rant now. What's wrong with using acupuncture? Do the Chinese really have to breed tigers just to kill 'em and use them as medicines. I'd appreciate the views of any Chinese folk reading this thread.
