Energy crises, eh?
Turns out that there are some HUGE environmental (& other) drawbacks to extracting both gas and oil from shale and sand beds
----------------------------
Bit of hypocrisy afoot.
For instance Sustainable Prince Charlie goes around yapping about the Green thing, but when you dig beneath the BS you soon see that the exploration/extraction of the energy resources in the USA is all about
the Crown.

How Green Is BP?

But to persuade the public that BP is no rapacious multinational, that it is instead an organization thinking first and foremost of the public good, may not come so easily as long as BP remains an oil company, deriving the vast majority of its profits from the black stuff that -- from drilling rig to oil tanker to refinery to gas station -- scars the earth, pollutes the air and eventually warms the planet.

I say screw the oil-Slickers:
We need to figure out some free energy, a least grow our own biodiesel like in Hawaii
Or power our cars with homemade onboard hydrogen converters.
http://www.cyberspaceorbit.com/other_hfsystems.html
De-mystify the whole freakin mess.
Then watch Bonny Prince Charlie--British Petroleum, recently renaming itself, "Beyond Petroleum" with some stupid scheme for making expensive zinc pellets for hydrogen...
Do it ourselves and watch the Royal Brats and their Chimpy pawns squirm.

"....After commercial-scale test runs on Appalachian coal in 1947, Karrick told the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers it is feasible
to produce oil from coal in the Hocking Valley for 0.00 a barrel. (Yes zero!) The going market price or the upgraded coal byproducts—as,
electricity, smokeless fuel and phenols—would let you give away the oil and still net a fair return. _________________ http://www.cyberspaceorbit.com |

One square meter of sunlit real estate can provide a kilowatt of power.
Put up 10 meter square heliostats, aimed at a sterling engine energy converter,
and you can get at most 10 kilowatts of energy for whatever purpose you desire.
Account for efficiencies, and ten heliostats will supply maybe 2.5 kilowatts. So put up twenty and you have enough to meet most of your needs.
Twenty heliostats and a sterling engine could be built in volume for under 20,000 dollars or forty pieces of gold.
The investment will be returned at todays energy rates at one piece of gold per month, or just over three years.
Too bad everybody is so far in debt to the federal reserve and their crooked banking minions, they can't afford to plan ahead. _________________ The world is a garment the soul wears. |

Too bad most of us are just too busy trying to survive with what we have.
Oh well. Our day will come.
Sooner or later.
