Finally, the full-sky observation images can be processed in order to reveal bright points in ultraviolet light by subtracting an average hydrogen glow. When the maps are displayed in ecliptic coordinates any point seen moving on an image sequence is potentially a comet.
Actually it is all about hydrogen glow. Hopefully SWAN will soon release more frames so we can determine movement, especially along the ecliptic.
SWAN has been really chintzy this last month with their data, updates have been frustratingly slow.

Funny that this site: http://www.tvcomm.co.uk/radio/last_24hour.html was showing "low activity" at the same time though, Kent. So, it "could be" meteors, right, but it could be what else? TIA...

OK...now...FINALLY, we have landfall reports.
Kent, huge, huge KUDOS to you sir for alerting everyone to this weeks ago.
No monster waves currently in the NDBC report, but then again, who knows what they might be doing with the data. Maybe they are just deleting every report over 40' or something now...
Has anyone ever heard of a storm 2000 miles aways sending 15-20 foot waves up on shore??
Seems MIGHTY suspicious to my old ears....

Been having some fringy thoughts on the Norway Fireball, the way it was reported then stuffed, then re-reported with administrative disclaimers

Tesla was outside, watching the antenna. Any surge that returned to the area would run up the antenna and jump off as lightning. Off the top of the antenna shot a six foot lightning bolt. The bolt kept going in a steady arc, though, unlike a single lightning flash. And here Tesla watched carefully, for he wanted to see if the power would build up, if his wave theory would work. Soon the lightning was twenty feet long, then fifty.
The surges were growing more powerful. Eighty feet -- now thunder was following each lightning bolt. A hundred feet, a hundred twenty feet; the lightning shot upwards off the antenna. Thunder was heard booming around Tesla now (it was heard 22 miles away, in the town of Cripple Creek). The meadow Tesla was standing in was lit up withan electrical discharge very much like St. Elmo's Fire, casting a blue glow. His theory had worked! There didn't seem to be an upper limit to the surges; he was creating the most powerful electrical surges ever created by man.

Traverses from 19:00 -20:30 now we just have to figure the distance of the coastline here
Maybe San Salvador to Puerto Escondido, Mexico, something like that.
Still calculating: 652nm San Salvador to Acapulco
ummm.... how about 300 mph, eh?
